I gave it a five because the Hamburger is the best in western North Carolina. I don't know what the meat is marinated in but it is amazing and I've been treating myself here for over a decade. This is not a place to find fried food but you can get some healthy sides. I just go for the burger. Call ahead and make sure they are open since their primary business is for the downtown work crowd. Now, I almost gave them a three star for location, panhandling while sitting outside, and the occasional transient you will have to step over to get to this great place to eat. BUT, that is not their fault but the fault of the city of Asheville which needs to be cleaned up. Update: On my last visit Haywood Street was a little more cleaned up, but I would not venture out after dark.
Excellent Veggie burger that stands out from other veggie burgers. This one is clearly homemade with actual black beans and lentils. The burger is also loaded with red onions, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and a special sauce. Fantastic sandwich even though it was on the pricey side. The potato and pasta salads were also very refreshing and fresh. I also recommend the chicken salad sandwich which includes sundried tomatoes that add a beautiful flavor to the sandwich.
Outstanding. We had an early lunch on Wednesday. Though this is a deli style location, they have indoor and outdoor seating. The food was a flavor party. Each bite distinct and complimentary.
We LOVED Romans Deli! We heard so much about their delicious sandwiches so it was a must try! We came all the way from New York so we figured to try a few different things off the menu. My absolute favorite was the turkey cranberry sandwich. I also really enjoyed the salads and the sesame chicken. We came back a few times during our trip because everything we tried was just so delicious!
Stopped for a quick sandwich before heading to the airport and was very happy we did. Pleasant service, homey dining area and an incredible sandwich. Had the half Italian but definitely wishing I ordered a full because it was so good.
I chose Roman's Deli for a hosted event. I must say we were overly and highly satisfied with the catering service, ease of delivery and setup. Everything was nicely packaged and labeled. But the best part of it all was how absolutely delicious everything was. Simple ingredients, put together so beautifully. Everyone that came through complimented the food and even came back for seconds and thirds. We ordered the turkey; the ham & the vegetarian sandwiches with the pasta and fruit salad. They also provided sweet and unsweet tea, along with all of the disposables needed. The ease of the setup was perfect. Thank you to everyone that helped with catering this. We will definitely be using them in the future for other events.
